The NEIBS’ Distance Learning process has five simple steps.

1. Sign up for a NEIBS’ course open for Distance Learning within the registration dates. Use our secure PayPal button. Also, you may use our Registration Form and send it in to us. Be sure the course is open to distance learning. See main web page.

2. You'll have to secure the books for local book sellers or though Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc.

3. One month to three weeks before the assignment is due, we’ll send you via e-mail the homework which is due by the date shown on the site.

4. You e-mail us the homework before or on the due date.

5. We’ll then send you the next homework assignment for the following month and the process continues until the completion of the course.

Who Qualifies For Distance Learning?

Those who live outside the State of Connecticut and Springfield, Massachusetts area can participate in NEIBS’ Distance Learning.

Your Homework

Try to be on time with your assignments. We, NEIBS' teachers or instructors, will review your homework and then comment on some aspects of your answers within a reasonable period of time. Some of the questions are fact oriented but many are self-reflective.  The idea is to look deeply within and explore the heart and mind using the dharma as a tool in order to unfold understanding. We call this monpo or dharma hearing.

Are Courses Offered In Other Languages?

All NEIBS’ courses are in English only.

International Students

International students are welcomed. In the past we have had students from Canada and the United Kingdom.

Waived Requirements

Since NEIBS’s students are located outside Connecticut the requirement of regularly attending a BFF of Ct/NASBA group is waived. However, we encourage participants to practice dharma with others in a community setting regardless of the “type” or school of Buddhism.

Discounted Suggested Donation

Since the overhead for our distance learning program is less than offering classes at a specific location, we normally ask for a lesser amount for a donation.

Structured Self Study

Our Distancing Learning is more or less a self-study course with structured questions to invoke greater understanding, of the dharma and spiritual transformation, with some guided feedback. It’s a great way to discipline your reading and learning of the dharma.

How Do You Register?

After you have chosen an offered Distance Learning course, simply go to our Registration Online page and register via Paypal.  The online registration form may have a comment section, if so, then just leave us a message that you will be taking the course as a Distance Learner. If there is not comment section, then just e-mail us using our main e-mail address on this site (amida@bffct.net) to let us know. That’s it.
