in popular culture.
Description
The Buddhist
Film Course shows cinemagraphic works that explore the Buddhist religious experience or take on Buddhist themes. Films include
dramas, documentaries, animation, and other features. Works will originate from
a variety of countries in the English language or sub-titled.
All viewings
of the course are offered simultaneously to the general public free of charge under the name "Connecticut Buddhist
Film Festival."
Objectives
The goal of this
film course is to educate the general public on the Buddha’s teachings, culture and experience through film.
In each showing,
participants will
1. Learn
more about the Buddha's teachings and way of life.
2. Observe how the Buddha’s teachings are depicted in film. The selected films will represent
a diversity of views and Buddhist schools.
All viewings
will be followed by discussion.
Cost
All film showings
are free of charge.
Registration
No need to register
for this course. Just show up at one of the viewings. The Buddhist Film Course is open to the public.
Times and Location
All showings
take place in various venues in Middletown, Connecticut on either Wednesdays
